Yogyakarta – The Islamic History and Civilization Study Program, Faculty of Adab and Cultural Sciences, UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta, has officially welcomed its new Secretary of the Study Program. Nur Rokhim, M.Hum. was inaugurated as the Secretary during the Appointment Ceremony for Heads and Secretaries of Study Programs within the Faculty of Adab and Cultural Sciences (FADIB), held on Tuesday, 4 August 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

The inauguration ceremony was led by the Dean of the Faculty of Adab and Cultural Sciences, Prof. Dr. Nurdin, M.A., as part of the faculty's effort to fill several leadership positions that had become vacant due to lecturers pursuing further studies abroad or assuming new academic and administrative responsibilities.

Within the Islamic History and Civilization Study Program, Nur Rokhim, M.Hum. succeeds Abdul Azis, M.Hum. as the Secretary of the Study Program. His appointment also marks the end of a one-semester vacancy in the position. During this transitional period, the Study Program continued to carry out its academic, administrative, and student service responsibilities under the leadership of the Head of the Study Program, Fatiyah, M.A., with the support and collaboration of the entire academic community. Despite the absence of a secretary, the program maintained its commitment to delivering quality academic services and ensuring the continuity of its institutional activities.

The appointment of Nur Rokhim, M.Hum. completes the leadership structure of the Islamic History and Civilization Study Program. The collaboration between Fatiyah, M.A., as the Head of the Study Program, and Nur Rokhim, M.Hum., as the Secretary, is expected to strengthen institutional governance, enhance academic and administrative services, improve the quality of education, research, and community engagement, and expand academic partnerships at both the national and international levels.

During the same ceremony, Dr. Puji Lestari was inaugurated as the Head of the Master's Program in Library and Information Science, Diah Prima Fajarwati, M.A. as the Secretary of the English Literature Study Program, and Mirza Syauqi Futaqi, M.Hum. as the Secretary of the Arabic Language and Literature Study Program.

This appointment represents an important milestone for the Islamic History and Civilization Study Program as it continues its commitment to academic excellence and institutional development. With a complete leadership team now in place, the Study Program is optimistic about further strengthening its academic culture, improving the quality of its services, fostering innovation, and expanding national and international collaborations in support of its vision of becoming a leading center for the study of Islamic history and civilization.

The entire academic community of the Islamic History and Civilization Study Program extends its heartfelt congratulations to Nur Rokhim, M.Hum. on this new appointment.
